The New Pony in Town: Chapter 6

As he was walking through Ponyville, cart on his back, Skaters was smiling, happy to help another new friend, more like two new friends. He was smiling and saying hi to everypony he passed by. He had a permanent smile in his face, as if he had a mood that no one could take down. He saw Sugarcube Corner, and he took the cart to the back, where Mrs. Cake was waiting.

"Oh hello, Big Ma- Oh! Skate Around... where's Big Macintosh?" Mrs. Cake said, surprised, expecting that the other red stallion was pulling the cart.

"Oh, i went over to Sweet Apple Acres, he sprained his side, so i'm doing the job for him." Skate Around said.

"Oh, thank you dearie, that was thoughtful of you." Mrs. Cake said. "Well, your help will be added into your pay."

"Thank you, but could give me the money so i can give it to Sweet Apple Acres?"

"I'm sorry, but i can't until the day is done."

"Oh, i understand... Well back to work."

"Thank you for your help, Skate."

Skaters went back into the kitchen, and helped Pinkie out inside. Four hours later, Skaters' shift was over, and he was paid 72 bits, plus the 90 bits for the delivery job.

"Okay, well i'll see you later." Skaters said.

"See you later!" Pinkie said, smiling.

Skaters was walking down the lane, he was walking toward Sweet Apple Acres. He walked down the lane of Apple Blossoms on the trees, humming a song to himself. He saw the farm and started galloping over. Then, he saw a flash of rainbow run into him, making him and the flash topple into a pyramid of baskets. Skaters was now wearing a basket on his head.

"Hey! Watch where you're going next time, I was on a new record!" a voice said, the voice sounded scratchy and tomboyish, the owner of the voice took a basket off her head and saw him in a basket too.

"Oh my goodness! Are you okay?" another voice said, this one was quiet and sweet.

Skaters then took the basket off his head, to see two mares looking at him. One was a blue mare with a rainbow colored mane and tail, she had a cutie mark of a cloud shooting out a rainbow colored thunder bolt. The second mare was a cream-colored mare with long, curly light pink mane and tail, she had a cutie mark of 3 butterflies.

"Oh, yes, i'm fine thank you for asking." Skaters said, getting up. "I'm Skate Around, what are your names?"

"I'm Rainbow Dash, and this is my friend Fluttershy!" the blue mare replied.

"H-Hi..." the cream mare said.

"Hi, it's nice to meet you both." Skaters said.

"H-Hey... you're the new employee at Sugarcube corner aren't you?" Fluttershy asked.

"Yes, how did you know?"

"Pinkie told me, she was very excited to hear she has a co-worker." Fluttershy explained.

"Oh, so you are the colt who helped Applejack and Big Mac out." Rainbow said.

"Yes i am." Skaters said, with a smile.

"Look, just cause you helped out one of my friends does not mean you aren't suspicious, you are new to ponyville, but it's like you new to Equestria... I got my eye on you..." Rainbow said, getting in his face.

"Umm... okay..." Skaters said.

"Come on, Fluttershy." Rainbow Dash said, flying away.

"I'll see you later..." Fluttershy said, flying away also.

"Bye..." Skaters said. Then he got up and went over to the farmhouse. He knocked on the door and waited. Big Macintosh came to the door and opened it.

"Hi... Well i'm done with work, and i want you to have the money i got from delivering the cart." Skaters said, pulling out a bag of 90 bits.

"Oh. Thank you." Big Mac said.

"Oh, I hope there wasn't anything i did to make you mad at me."

"... You didn't make me mad, it's just that, i just don't trust you fully. I mean you could've spent some of this money for all i know. I'm sorry, i just don't trust you." Big Mac said.

"Oh... is it because i'm not from here, or does it seem like i'm not from Equestria?"

Big Mac's eyes widened, he couldn't say anything.

"It's not your fault, you trust ponies when you feel like you can. I understand. Well, i hope your side recovers quickly." Skaters said, smiling. "I'll see you around."

"See ya around." Big Mac said.

Skaters turned around, and started walking off, the smile on his face. But when he was walking away, he thought about what Rainbow had said, and Big Mac's reaction to what he said. He started tearing up, feeling that he wasn't trusted by anypony. But he managed to hold in his sadness until he got off Sweet Apple Acres.

"Not alot of ponies trusts me... I guess someponies notice how unfamiliar i am with this place. I'm don't know how to get ponies trust. But i mean i want to make friends, and friendship takes trust to build it high up into the sky... But... if no pony trusts me, or anyone for that matter, then what happens to friendship?" Skaters talked to himself. He was walking down under a cloud that held Cloudsdale up.

"Man... this blows." Skaters said.

"Hey, you!" somepony said.

"Why are you around these part?" Another pony said.

"Wha? me?" Skaters studdered.

Three Pegasus ponies flew down and surrounded him.

"Why have you come here?"

"No strangers allowed."

"I-I'm sorry, i'll just leave."

"No, you are trepassing, ponies who break the rules, must pay the price."

Then, two of the pegasus ponies restrained Skaters, while the 3rd pony stood over him. Then, he began tickling Skaters' belly and sides.

"Whahahahahaha! STOHOHOHOHOHOP PLEHEHEHEHEASE!" Skaters pleaded.

"You need to pay the price for trespassing!" the Pegasus said.

"Use your wings, Lightfeather!" another pegasus said.

"HEY!" a voice said. There was a unicorn who was walking toward the four ponies. "Leave that pony alone!" This was one of the many times, that Skaters was happy to hear an unfamiliar voice.
